Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Sorato Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and stores information in connection with the TalkTo.Me application ("the App").

Sorato Inc. is the data controller for information processed through the App.

Information We Collect

When you use TalkTo.Me, we may collect and process the following:

Photos and Voice Samples (Avatar Creation)

When you create an avatar, you provide:

• A selfie image (containing facial information)
• An approximately 8-second voice recording

These materials are uploaded to our secure servers for the purpose of generating and operating your avatar.

They are not used for identification, profiling, advertising, or unrelated AI training.

Conversation Audio

During live avatar conversations, your voice is streamed in real time for speech recognition and avatar response generation.

Conversation audio is not recorded or stored after the session ends.

Account and Authentication Data

If you sign in with Apple, we receive:

• A unique Apple user identifier
• Your name and/or email address (if you choose to share them)

Anonymous users are assigned a temporary session identifier.

Preferences

Language selection and grammatical gender preferences are stored locally on your device.

Face Data and Biometric Information

When you upload a selfie to create an avatar, the image contains facial information ("face data").

We collect and process face data solely to:

• Generate your personalized avatar
• Enable avatar-based visual interaction features within the App

We do not:

• Perform facial recognition
• Use face data for authentication or identification
• Compare face data against any database
• Use face data for advertising or marketing
• Sell, rent, or license face data

How Face Data Is Processed

Face data is:

• Stored locally on your device
• Stored securely on our cloud servers
• Transmitted via encrypted connection (TLS) to Hedra, a third-party AI image processing provider, solely for avatar generation and operation

Images are transmitted without additional account metadata beyond what is technically required to complete processing.

Hedra processes images only to provide avatar generation functionality in accordance with their privacy policy.

We do not authorize Hedra to use face data for unrelated purposes.

Voice Data Processing

Voice samples provided during avatar creation are transmitted securely to ElevenLabs solely for voice synthesis and avatar functionality.

Real-time conversation audio is streamed for processing and is not retained after the session ends.

Data Storage and Retention

Avatar source materials (photo and voice samples) and generated avatar media are stored:

• On our servers
• On your device

Retention period:

• Avatar materials are retained for as long as your avatar remains active.
• If you delete your avatar or account, associated photo and voice data are permanently deleted from active systems within 30 days.
• Backup systems are automatically purged within 30 days.

Conversation audio from live sessions is not stored.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following service providers:

• LiveKit — Real-time communication
• Hedra — AI-powered avatar image processing
• ElevenLabs — Voice synthesis
• Supabase — Authentication and secure cloud storage

These providers process data only as necessary to provide their respective functionality.

International Data Transfers

Data may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

We use secure transmission protocols and commercially reasonable safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest.

Children's Privacy

TalkTo.Me is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You may:

• Delete your avatar within the App
• Request deletion of your account
• Contact us to request access or deletion of personal data

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
